SRS East employees teamed up with the Sew Powerful Purse Project. The Sew Powerful organization describes its mission here: “We are working hard to link seamstresses from around the world to combat extreme poverty by providing re-usable feminine hygiene supplies and health training to girls in Zambia. This enables them to attend school all month and improve their academic performance.”

SRS employees made purses (2 of each design, with a little daisy on the front flap), each with an inspirational note tucked inside. A $5 per purse donation was also given to the organization in order for the purses to be filled with reusable hygiene supplies, which the girls so desperately need. This is a wonderful and meaningful project; we were very pleased to have been a part of it. For more information on how you can participate, please visit their website: Purse Project — sewpowerful
